Silas trained at Elmhurst Ballet School from the age of 11. He was head boy and in his finally years danced with Birmingham Royal Ballet. After graduating he went on to dance in China with Suzhou Ballet Theatre before moving to Estonia where he joined the Vanemuine Ballet in Tartu where he worked as a soloist. During this time, he also performed with New English Ballet Theatre and was a ballet teacher in the Vanemuine Ballet School. He also choreographed for the company which included full length productions of Beauty and the Beast and The Snow Queen. He now works as a freelance dance teacher in Canterbury.
